A Quick Overview on How to Make a Margarita with Tequila

The margarita is easily one of the most popular drinks around, particularly in the United States.  In fact, this drink is the most widely consumed cocktail drink in all of the U.S.  During the Cinco de Mayo festival, a Mexican event that is also celebrated in the U.S., it is estimated that over 185,000 margaritas are being consumed every hour. This simply goes to show just how popular and loved this cocktail drink is.

The very reason why the margarita is the preferred cocktail drink of choice by many is because it is very refreshing to drink.  If you fancy yourself being able to bartend and prepare this amazing alcoholic cocktail beverage, you’ll be happy to know that this drink is actually very easy to prepare.

The list below shows the ingredients necessary on how to make a margarita with tequila:

1 oz. Tequila
1 oz. Cointreau
Fresh Lime Juice
Kosher Salt
Lime Wedge

It is important for tequila to have salt and this could be done with added visual presentation value given to it by having the cocktail glass rimmed with salt.  This can be achieved by sliding a lime wedge around the lip of the glass.  This gives the lip moisture and makes salt crystals adhere to it.  Once the lip has been moistened, dip the overall lip of your cocktail glass on a saucer with kosher salt.  This gives the glass its salt rimming.

Once your glass has been prepared, it’s now time to make the cocktail drink itself.  Get a shaker and put lots of ice inside it.  Place in measured amounts of all your liquids – tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice.  Place the lid of your shaker and shake the contents fast and vigorously.  This will allow the liquid contents to get the temperature of the ice without being diluted too much.  After about 10 seconds of energetic shaking, strain the contents of the shaker into the salt-rimmed glass you prepared earlier.  Give the drink some garnishing of lime wedges.  Serve and enjoy.
